Brave Kitten Stands Up To Dog

A cute kitten stands up to a mean dog trying to scare away the cat.  The dog never attacks or bites the poor cat but by the end of the video, the little cat is back into a cement corner by the huge black and brown dog that is easily 10 times the kitten's size.  Viewer's say, "It's crazy how this baby creature is defending itself fearlessly in the midst of such a huge beast." and, "This is truly a miniture pet version of David and Goliath."

Angry Bison Charges at Kids

In a recent online video, a small group of US kids and children were really scared when they come face to face with an easy tempered bison in Yellowstone National Park.  They began taking pictures of the bison as it, without a cue, began to charge at them.  Luckily the boys fled fast enough to get away from the large creature but came within yards of the enormous creature.

At one point, a man from behind the camera (possibly the camera man) says, "Go walk right up to him."  Then the man says, "See him gesturing, see his head movements saying 'I will get you, I will get you'."  The chamber later wrote, "This group has no idea how incredibly lucky they were that no one was injured or killed."  Also said, "Yellowstone is an incredible place that allows us all to experience wildlife in a way that can you can nowhere in the world. But it is also a place where safety rules, regarding wildlife and thermal features are so important to follow."

This goes to show you that anything can happen in these American parks.  Be careful when you are out in the wild taking pictures of large wildlife such as the buffalo bison.

Record Mekong Giant Catfish

In this picture this Mekong Giant Catfish (Pangasius gigas) came in at 9 feet long and 646 ponds.  This Mekong giant catfish is one of the largest fish in many parts of the world.  The fish can often grow up to 10 feet and 650 pounds as seen in this picture being held by two Asian men. Despite its large size, it is a very gentle giant that survives on a diet of mostly underwater plant substance matter and green algae.

This fish in the photo was caught by these two Asian men, in 2005, in an area where the species is considered endangered.  The fish's endangerment has worried many people in Asia and surrounding area for years.  To combat this problem the Department of Fisheries take eggs and sperm from the fish where they breed new fish to keep the species alive and kicking for longer.

The Mekong catfish mostly lives along the Mekong River in China.  The river runs southward into areas of Southeast Asia. The huge catfish can also be found as far south as Thailand and Cambodia where it is also named Pla, Buk.  Pla Buk meaning is "huge fish".  The current record is around 10ft long and 660lbs in weight which is slightly bigger then the picture featured above.

Looking into the Mekong River in China where the Mekong Giant Catfish lives, the waters are very dark and murky, much to the fishes natural likings.  Catfish naturally grow big as seen in the picture of the main Catfish found in America.  This catfish has whiskers wish the Mekong Catfish has none but is considered a Catfish because of is similarities as the other types of catfish in it's large growing family.
